The WISEPIM app brings your catalog into ChatGPT. Ask which products miss a description, what your analytics say, or how your enrichment prompts are set up, and ChatGPT answers from your real project data. When you want something changed, ChatGPT prepares the exact change and runs it through the same enrichment, translation and bulk edit pipelines you use in the app. If you switched on approval for the connection, it sends you a review link first and waits for your decision in WISEPIM. What this page enables: you can plan and run catalog work from a ChatGPT conversation without giving it a free hand: it sees one project, only with the permissions you allowed, and you decide per connection whether it applies changes itself or waits for your approval in WISEPIM. Where to find it: start in ChatGPT: open the WISEPIM app and choose Connect. Afterwards, manage the connection in WISEPIM under Settings > Connected apps.
This is not the ChatGPT Shopping channel in Feed Hub. Feed Hub sends your products out to shoppers. The WISEPIM app lets ChatGPT reach in to the catalog you work on.

Before you start

  • A WISEPIM account. No account yet? The sign-in page links to signup, and the connection picks up where it left off once you finish setup.
  • A project you can edit. The app asks for permissions that change the catalog, so you need to be the project owner, an admin or editor, or have a custom role that can edit products. Viewers see no projects to choose.
  • Credits for the actions you plan to run. Reading your catalog is free; enrichment, translation, research and catalog jobs use credits.
WISEPIM appears in ChatGPT once OpenAI has published the listing. If you can’t find the WISEPIM app yet, the listing is still on its way.

1

Choose Connect in ChatGPT

Open the WISEPIM app in ChatGPT and choose Connect. ChatGPT opens WISEPIM in your browser.
2

Sign in to WISEPIM

Use your normal WISEPIM sign-in. ChatGPT never sees your password.
3

Check who is asking

The Connect WISEPIM screen shows “ChatGPT requests access to your account” with the email you are signed in with. Signed in with the wrong account? Deny and start again.
4

Read the requested permissions

Every permission is listed under Requested permissions with a short explanation. The table below shows them all.
5

Choose a project

Under Choose a project, pick exactly one: “Only this project will be accessible through this connection.” To use another project, connect again and pick that one.
6

Decide whether changes need your approval

Because the app asks for permissions that change the catalog, the card offers Require approval before changes. Leave it off and ChatGPT applies the changes you ask for within its permissions: “Your assistant can apply changes and start jobs within the permissions you grant. WISEPIM still checks access, data freshness and credits.” Switch it on and every change waits for your approval in WISEPIM. You can change this later under Settings > Connected apps.
7

Allow access

Click Allow access and you’re back in ChatGPT, connected. Deny access cancels the request.

The permissions ChatGPT asks for

The WISEPIM app requests these permissions for its workflows: Permissions never go beyond your own role. If your role in the project changes, WISEPIM checks it again on every request. A permission added in a later version of the app is not granted silently: you reconnect and approve it.

What you can ask

Talk to ChatGPT the way you would talk to a colleague who knows WISEPIM. For example:
  • “Find products that need enrichment and suggest a WISEPIM action.”
  • “Find products missing key information, then prepare descriptions and German translations for my review.”
  • “Research missing facts for the products I select and show the evidence before proposing changes.”
  • “Review my enrichment settings and saved prompts.”
  • “Which of these products get search traffic but have weak content?”
  • “Help me set up my first catalog.”
For a precise selection, ChatGPT turns your request into a WISEPIM filter, shows you how it read it and how many products match, and only then works with that selection. If it can’t turn part of your request into a filter, it asks instead of guessing. In ChatGPT, some answers come with a WISEPIM card that shows the match count, the criteria it used and a link to the review page. The card has no approve button: when approval is on, approving happens in WISEPIM.

The tools behind it

Each WISEPIM tool has a name, which you may see while ChatGPT works. Each tool needs one or more permissions: Catalog jobs cover five of the Catalog Jobs: Fill the gaps, Complete a supplier sheet (rows you already imported), Fix missing images, Map categories between shops and Get ready for Google and Meta ads. Jobs started from ChatGPT never export.

What stays in WISEPIM

The app does not handle billing, credentials, team access, deleting products, exports or publishing to a channel. It doesn’t generate images, video or audio, read PDFs, or import new files. Do those in WISEPIM itself.

Review and approve changes

1

ChatGPT prepares a proposal

It freezes the exact products, fields, languages, saved prompt and settings, and works out a credit estimate. Nothing runs yet.
2

With approval off, ChatGPT applies it

This is the default. ChatGPT applies the proposal within its permissions and, for enrichment, translation, research and catalog jobs, starts the job. Ask it for the review link to see exactly what it did, and for progress until the job is done.
3

With approval on, you open the review link

The link opens Review assistant changes in WISEPIM, signed in as the account that made the connection. You see the action under Action to authorize, its target, “Estimated WISEPIM credits” and every selected product by name and image. For text edits you see Current value and Proposed value side by side, with a flag for the language of each translated field.
4

You approve or reject

Click Approve this proposal or Reject proposal. There is no tool that lets ChatGPT approve its own proposal.
5

ChatGPT applies it

Go back to ChatGPT and ask it to apply the proposal. For enrichment, translation, research and catalog jobs, this starts the job. Ask ChatGPT for progress until the job is done.
The proposal is fixed once it exists. Products that start matching your filter later are not added. If a selected product, the prompt or the settings change before you apply it, the status becomes Needs a new preview and ChatGPT has to prepare a fresh one. For enrichment you approve the action and its estimate, not the finished text: the text is generated when the job runs.
With approval on: “Approval covers exactly this proposal. Your assistant must then apply it before it expires. Approval alone does not change your catalog.” A proposal expires one hour after ChatGPT creates it.
The full list of review statuses is on Connected Apps.

Credits

Actions started from ChatGPT use your normal WISEPIM credits, from the same balance as actions you start in the app, and show up on the Usage page. The app never sells you credits or upgrades. Your existing plan and balance apply.

Limits

Codex

The same WISEPIM app works in Codex. Open the WISEPIM connection in Codex, choose Connect, and go through the same sign-in and consent screen. The permissions, approval setting, credits and limits on this page apply unchanged.

Disconnect

In WISEPIM, go to Settings > Connected apps, click Revoke access on the connection and then Confirm revocation. This “stops new requests and invalidates pending approvals for this connection.” Your catalog data stays in WISEPIM. You can also disconnect the app in ChatGPT. To be sure the access itself is gone, revoke it in WISEPIM as well. Connections also expire on their own; the date is under Expires.

Troubleshooting

The app asks for permissions that change the catalog, so only projects you can edit are listed. Ask the project owner or an admin for an editor role, or deny the request.
The request from ChatGPT timed out, for example during a long signup. Start a new connection from ChatGPT.
WISEPIM can’t accept new connections right now. Try again later. Existing connections stay listed and you can still revoke them.
The proposal expired, the connection was revoked, or you are signed in to WISEPIM with a different account than the one you connected. Sign in with the right account, or ask ChatGPT for a new preview.
A selected product, prompt or setting changed after ChatGPT made the proposal. Ask for a fresh preview and review that one.
Proposals take at most 500 products. Narrow the filter, or ask ChatGPT to split the work into batches that you review one by one.
A newer version of the app may need a permission your connection doesn’t have. Connect again and approve the new permission.

Act on what you find

Ask it to prepare enrichment or translation for exactly those products, then check the selection and the credit estimate before the job runs: on the review page when approval is on, in ChatGPT’s answer when it is off.
Approval is off by default. Switch on Require approval before changes for the connection under Settings > Connected apps, and every later change waits for you in WISEPIM. The review link for the change that already landed shows exactly what was applied.
Go back to ChatGPT and ask it to apply the proposal. Ask again later for the job’s progress. A queued job is not a finished one.
Ask ChatGPT to read the products back, or open them in WISEPIM. Catalog jobs can leave suggestions in their review queue; check them in Catalog Jobs.
Revoke the connection under Settings > Connected apps.
