Overview
Export settings define how WISEPIM prepares your product data for download or channel distribution. Setting sensible defaults here saves time on every export.
You must select a project from the project switcher before you can edit Export settings.
Quality Guard
Before exporting data to your channels, you can validate product quality through WISEPIM’s Quality Guard feature. This ensures that only products meeting your standards are included in exports.
Click Manage to open the Quality Guard page, where you can:
- Define quality gates that products must pass before export.
- Set validation rules for required fields, content length, and data completeness.
- Configure channel-specific quality thresholds.
Setting up Quality Guard rules prevents incomplete or low-quality products from reaching your sales channels, protecting your brand reputation.
Choose the default file format for product exports. You can always override this when performing a specific export.
| Format | Description |
|---|
| CSV | Comma-separated values file. Widely supported and lightweight. |
| Excel | Microsoft Excel spreadsheet (.xlsx). Ideal for teams that work in spreadsheet tools. |
| JSON | JavaScript Object Notation. Best for developer integrations and APIs. |
Encoding
Select the default character encoding for exported files. This determines how special characters (accents, symbols, non-Latin scripts) are represented.
| Encoding | Use Case |
|---|
| UTF-8 | The universal default. Supports all characters across all languages. Recommended for most users. |
| ISO-8859-1 (Latin-1) | Supports Western European characters. Required by some legacy systems. |
| Windows-1252 | Microsoft Windows encoding. Use this if importing into older Windows-based tools. |
If your products contain non-Western characters (e.g., Chinese, Arabic, Cyrillic), always use UTF-8. Other encodings will corrupt these characters.
Saving Changes
When you modify any setting on this page, a save bar appears at the bottom:
- Save — Persists your export settings to the project.
- Undo — Reverts all changes to the last saved state.
