# Catalog Jobs

> Guided background jobs that fill gaps, complete supplier sheets, fix images and more. See the credit estimate first and review what AI is unsure about.

![WISEPIM Catalog Jobs hub with review, schedule and run counts, a banner with suggestions waiting for review, job filters, recently used jobs and job cards](https://mintcdn.com/swiftsyncai/t_sarMlF7wjzJzzt/images/marketing-screenshots/catalog-jobs/catalog-jobs-light-branded.webp?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=t_sarMlF7wjzJzzt\&q=85\&s=3b83a432328f686b166f78306e6aa862)

Catalog Jobs are guided jobs that work through your catalog in the background. Pick a job, such as **Fill the gaps** or **Fix missing images**, check the settings WISEPIM prepared for you, and start it. The job scans your products, tells you what it will cost, does the work, and puts every result it is unsure about in a review queue. Nothing reaches your shop until the export step.

**What this page enables:** you can pick the right job for a catalog problem, know what it costs before you start, decide how much WISEPIM may apply on its own, and set a job to repeat by itself.

**Where to find it:** in the **Catalog** menu, choose **Catalog Jobs**. It carries a **Beta** chip: the feature is new and still being improved.

## Where to find Catalog Jobs

The **Catalog** menu looks different depending on your **Interface version** (see [Appearance Settings](https://docs.wisepim.com/en/settings/appearance.md)):

| Interface version | Where Catalog Jobs sits |
| - | - |
| **Stable** (default) | **Catalog** > **Catalog Jobs**, in the main list next to **All Products** and **Product Categories**. |
| **Experimental** | **Catalog** > **Catalog Jobs**, at the bottom of the menu next to **Review inbox**. |

You can also start a job from the products table. Select products, then click **Run a job** in the selection bar. A menu such as **Run a catalog job on 40 products** lists the jobs that fit, with the note "You see the estimate before you start." The job then opens with your selection already filled in.

Or open the command menu (Ctrl/⌘ K) and type **Catalog Jobs**.

## The hub

The hub is where you start jobs and keep an eye on them.

| Part | What it shows |
| - | - |
| Header counts | How many suggestions are open **to review**, how many **runs** you have and how many **schedules**. |
| **Suggestions waiting for you** | A banner when suggestions need your review, for example "97 suggestions need your review". Click **Review now** to open the [review queue](https://docs.wisepim.com/en/products/catalog-jobs-review.md). |
| **Recommended for you** | One next step, based on what the scan found in your catalog. **Not now** hides that recommendation for two weeks. **Also worth a look** lists other good candidates. |
| **Start a job** | Every job as a card. Search with **Search jobs...** or filter with **Show jobs for**: **All**, **Add products**, **Improve products**, **Keep in sync** or **Sell on more shops and channels**. |
| **Recently used** | The jobs you ran last, each with **Run again**. |
| **Run it on a schedule** | Ready-made schedule templates. See [Schedules](#schedules). |
| **Your schedules** | Jobs that run by themselves. |
| **Recent runs** | Every run with its status, open suggestions and headline results. |

Each job card shows what it does, what it needs, how long setup takes ("About 2 minutes to set up") and chips such as **Free** (the job uses no AI), **Repeats** (the job can run on a schedule) or **Coming soon**. Click **Start** to open the setup.

## How a job works

Every job follows the same five stages.

**1. Scan**

WISEPIM checks your catalog first, so every setup step opens filled in. For example, **Fill the gaps** tells you how many products miss at least one attribute and which attributes have allowed values.

**2. Estimate**

Before you start, the **This run** card shows the expected cost in credits, broken down per step. If you are short, it says so and offers **Buy credits**.

**3. Run**

The job works through its steps in the background. You can close the page: the run keeps going and shows up in Catalog Jobs.

**4. Review**

Results at or above your confidence threshold are applied for you. Everything else waits in the [review queue](https://docs.wisepim.com/en/products/catalog-jobs-review.md), where you accept, change or reject each suggestion.

**5. Export**

Accepted changes go to your shop, into an import file, or stay in WISEPIM. You choose which on the last setup step.

## Set up and start a job

The setup is a short wizard. It shows **Step 1 of 3** and so on, with **Back** and **Continue**. The steps depend on the job: **Fill the gaps** has **Products**, **How to fill** and **Start**; **Complete a supplier sheet** has **Upload**, **Read the codes**, **What to add** and **Start**.

> [!TIP]
>
> In a hurry? Click **Start with recommended settings** to skip straight to the start step with the settings WISEPIM picked for your catalog.

### Choose the products

Under **Which products?** you pick the scope:

* **Only the 40 products you selected**, when you came from the products table.
* **All 1,250 matching products**: everything that matches your filters on the products page.
* **Every product this job finds**: the job looks across your whole catalog.

Switch on **Only parent products, variants follow** when values such as frame colour or size are the same for every variant. It saves credits.

### Adjust each step

Each step opens with **How to set up this step**: keep **Recommended** or choose **Customize**. Chips next to each setting tell you where its value comes from, such as **Recommended**, **Your last setting for** a shop, **From this schedule**, **Project setting**, **Shop setting** or **Default**. A setting you changed shows **Changed**, and **Back to recommended** resets it. Settings that protect your data are locked and marked **Always on**.

With more than one shop, choose **Same settings for every shop** or **Settings per shop**. The **What this does** preview shows the effect on a sample of your products. The numbers are close, not exact.

### Decide what WISEPIM applies on its own

**When should we apply changes for you?** sets the confidence threshold for this run:

| Preset | What it means |
| - | - |
| **Careful** | Only when WISEPIM is at least 95% sure. More to review. |
| **Balanced** | At least 85% sure. The default, and what most teams pick. |
| **Fast** | At least 70% sure. Less to review, so check the report. |
| **Never** | Don't apply anything. You review every suggestion. |

After you have reviewed enough suggestions, WISEPIM can show **Recommended from your past reviews** with a threshold based on what you accepted before. Everything below the threshold waits in the review queue.

### Choose what happens when it is done

Under **When it's done** you pick where accepted changes go. For a WooCommerce shop the choices are:

* **Send to WooCommerce after I review**: only accepted changes are sent, after a review step.
* **Send without waiting for my review**
* **Give me a WooCommerce import file**
* **Keep the changes in WISEPIM**

With several shops you choose per shop: **Send to the shop**, **Keep in WISEPIM** or **Download a file**. Tick **Remember these choices for** your shop to reuse them next time.

### Try it first

**Try it on 10 products first** runs the job on a small sample. The trial suggestions wait in the review queue, and the full run reuses them, so nothing is wasted.

Click **Start run** when you are ready. If a run can't start, nothing is charged.

## Available jobs

| Job | What it does | What it needs |
| - | - | - |
| **Fill the gaps** | Finds products that miss attributes and fills them from the photo and the web. Sticks to your allowed values or the ones your shop already uses. Free text answers wait for your check. | Your products in WISEPIM |
| **Complete a supplier sheet** | You upload a sheet with codes and short descriptions. WISEPIM decodes them, finds images and fills the details. Rows that belong together become one product with variants. | A supplier sheet: Excel (.xlsx, .xls) or CSV |
| **Fix missing images** | Swaps placeholder images for real photos, from your old store or the web. | Products with a placeholder or no image |
| **Turn look-alikes into variants** | Products that are one model in several colours become one product with variants. See [Product Variants](https://docs.wisepim.com/en/products/product-variants.md). | Your products in WISEPIM |
| **Image studio** | White background, square frame, a lighter file and alt text for every photo. | The photos you already have |
| **Complete beauty product data** | Ingredients, volume, shade and skin type from the pack photo and trusted sites. | Products in your beauty categories |
| **Map categories between shops** | Matches your categories to another shop's tree once, so products you list there land in the right place. | Another shop you can open in WISEPIM |
| **Sync supplier stock and prices** | Reads your supplier's list, updates stock and prices, and shows what is new or gone. | A stock or price list by upload, link, FTP, SFTP or email |
| **Retire sold-out products** | Moves sold-out products out of your shop. Never touches products with open orders. | Works best with your orders synced |
| **Make each shop unique** | Writes a version of each product for every shop, so your shops stop competing in Google. | 2 or more shops in this project |
| **Translate a shop** | Translates products, categories and values. Brand and shade names stay as they are. | A second project language |
| **Get ready for Google and Meta ads** | Gets your products approved on Google Shopping and Meta by fixing categories, identifiers, titles and claims. | Merchant Center or a feed |

If a job doesn't fit your project yet, its card says why, for example "Add a second language first" or "You have no other shop in WISEPIM yet".

## Credits

> [!NOTE]
>
> Only steps that use AI cost credits. The rest is free. You always see the estimate before you start, and each step is charged once per product, even if a run is retried.

| AI step | Credits |
| - | - |
| Reading a product photo | 1 per product |
| AI decision (for example, picking an allowed value or reading a code) | 0.05 per decision (20 decisions is about 1 credit) |
| AI reading a supplier code the rules couldn't read | 1 per product it improves |
| Checking a product's photos | 1 per product |
| Sorting a product into a category with AI | 1 per product |
| Web search | 5 per product, the standard [Web Research](https://docs.wisepim.com/en/ai/web-research.md) rate |

Some jobs add their own options with a price shown next to the switch:

| Job option | Credits |
| - | - |
| **Read missing options from the photo** (look-alikes) | 1 per product without the option |
| **Alt text** (Image studio) | 1 per product for each language |
| **Check cut-outs** (Image studio) | About 1 per cut-out |
| **Use AI for rows the codes don't find** (supplier sync) | About 1 per row it looks at |
| Translation **Quality**: **Standard** / **Best** | 1 / 5 per product per language |
| **Also translate categories and attribute values** | 1 per category per language |
| Long description in **Make each shop unique** | 1 more per product per shop |
| **Search the web for barcodes and brands** (ads) | 5 per product |
| Trusted websites (beauty data) | 5 per product family |

Fetching photos from your old store, photo edits in Image studio, rule-based code decoding and exports are free. Reviewing is free too, including bulk decisions.

If credits run out during a run, it pauses with **Paused: not enough credits**. Top up and click **I've topped up**, or click **Continue with what we have**: the run uses your remaining credits and lists the products it skipped in the report.

## Limits

| Limit | Value |
| - | - |
| Products per run | 50,000. Select more and WISEPIM takes the first 50,000; start another run for the rest. |
| Schedules per project | 100 |
| Accept all High in the review queue | Up to 2,000 suggestions per click |
| Bulk review decisions | Up to 50,000 suggestions at once |

## Schedules

![WISEPIM Catalog Jobs hub showing Your schedules with Needs you, Paused and Active chips, a skipped-run note, and Recent runs with open suggestion counts](https://mintcdn.com/swiftsyncai/S-ZB-hYvRnPueaxY/images/marketing-screenshots/catalog-jobs/catalog-jobs-schedules-light-branded.webp?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=S-ZB-hYvRnPueaxY\&q=85\&s=522cf5d3d4ae33555d694b2d55713414)

A schedule turns a job into an automation that runs by itself. There are two ways to make one:

* **On the start step**, under **Repeat this job**, pick **Just this once**, **After every import**, **When a file arrives**, **Every day**, **Every week** or **Every month**. For timed runs, set the **Day of the week** or **Day of the month**, the **Time** and the **Time zone**. The cost line tells you what each run uses and what that adds up to per month.
* **From a template** under **Run it on a schedule** on the hub: **Fill gaps every week**, **Complete new supplier sheets** or **Fix new missing images**. Click **Use template**.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Repeated runs don't wait for you. They send what is checked and keep the rest in your review queue. WISEPIM lets you know when one needs you.

**Your schedules** on the hub lists each schedule with its timing, next and last run, and a status chip: **Active**, **Paused**, **Needs you** or **Last run stopped**. Open one to manage it:

| Action | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Run now** | Starts a run right away. The confirmation shows the expected credits. Your schedule stays the same. |
| **Pause** / **Resume** | Stops or restarts the schedule. |
| **Review** | Opens the open suggestions from this schedule. |
| **Delete schedule** | Stops the schedule. Past runs and their reports stay. |

The schedule page also shows **How it's set up** (**When**, **What**, **Review**, **When it's done**, **Cost**), **Since last run** and the **History** of every run.

WISEPIM skips a run, and tells you why, when the previous run is still busy, when a run is too late to catch up, or when there aren't enough credits. You get at most one notification per schedule per day, for example that a schedule needs you, stopped, or was skipped twice in a row. Schedules are automations, so they also show in the [Automations](https://docs.wisepim.com/en/automations/overview.md) builder.

## Follow a run

Open a run from **Recent runs** to see it live. The header shows the credits used against the estimate, and a line like "So far: 120 applied · 32 to review · 2 need attention". **Steps of this run** shows where it is.

Each run has a status: **Not started**, **Estimating**, **Running**, **Needs your review**, **Exporting**, **Done**, **Stopped**, **Cancelled**, **Ready to send**, **Ready for your file** or **Ready to go on**.

* **Cancel run** stops after the current batch. Changes already applied stay, and open suggestions stay in the review queue.
* When the run waits for you before exporting, choose **Review 32 suggestions**, **Send what's accepted now** or **Download a file instead**.

## The run report

![WISEPIM run report for Fix missing images with result cards, a Step by step table with ok, to check and credit counts per step, and before and after examples](https://mintcdn.com/swiftsyncai/t_sarMlF7wjzJzzt/images/marketing-screenshots/catalog-jobs/catalog-jobs-report-light-branded.webp?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=t_sarMlF7wjzJzzt\&q=85\&s=b68dd6f1d0d2b10afe9513d1510aac80)

When a run finishes, its page becomes the **Run report**. Use **Print** for a copy or **Run again** to repeat it.

| Section | What it shows |
| - | - |
| Result cards | The numbers that matter for this job, such as **Attributes filled**, **Images found**, **Decoded**, **Categorized**, **Checked and kept**, **Needs review**, **Applied for you** and **Exported**. Hover the question mark for the definition. |
| **Step by step** | Every step with its products, how many are ok, to check or failed, and its credits, or **Free**. Click **Show products** for the details. |
| **Before and after** | Example products per step, so you can judge the quality. |
| **What needs you** | Open suggestions with a **Review** link, and products that didn't work. |
| **Export** | What was sent to your shop, or **Download file** for an import file. |

If a run ran out of credits, the report says how far it got, for example "We ran out of credits after 400 of 1,000 products.", with **Run the rest**. If a step failed, everything done before it is kept.

## Act on what you find

> **Too many suggestions end up in the review queue**
>
> Lower the threshold for the next run, from **Careful** to **Balanced**, or use the threshold WISEPIM recommends from your past reviews. In the review queue itself, **Accept all** on the High band clears the confident suggestions in one click.

> **A run costs more than you expected**
>
> Open the report and check the credits per step in **Step by step**. Web search is usually the biggest cost: turn off **Search the web when the photo isn't enough** or switch on **Only parent products, variants follow** for the next run.

> **A scheduled run was skipped**
>
> Open the schedule. The page says why, for example that there weren't enough credits or that the previous run was still busy. Top up, or use **Run now** once the earlier run has finished.

> **A job card says it isn't available**
>
> Read the note on the card. Most jobs need something first, such as a second shop, a second language or a connected Merchant Center.
