# Unmatched products

> Link order lines that WISEPIM could not match to a product in your catalog, so product reports, Margin and the Fix queue include them.

An order line arrives with the reference your store uses for the product. Usually WISEPIM matches it to the catalog on its own. When it cannot, the line still counts in order totals, but every product report leaves it out: no product sales, no Margin, no place in the Fix queue. This page is where you close that gap.

**What this page enables:** you link a store reference to the right catalog product once, and every past and future order line with that reference follows. Product reports stop under-counting your best sellers.

**Where to find it:** open **Analytics**, expand the **Data & setup** group in the sidebar and click **Unmatched products**. The **Match order lines to products** step on the [Today](https://docs.wisepim.com/en/analytics/today.md) page and the **Needs product matching** trust mark on other pages land here too.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Matching uses the exact product or variant reference from the store. A similar SKU is not enough: WISEPIM never guesses a link from a near match, so a reference stays unmatched until you confirm it.

## Work the queue

The subtitle counts the work: **N order lines in the last 90 days aren't linked to a product, so product reports leave them out.** Each entry shows the reference **As sold**, the store, and **Last seen `{time}`**. Click **Link to product…**, search the catalog by name or SKU, and click **Apply**. The entry moves into **Matched just now (N)** and you get ten seconds to **Undo**.

**Load more** fetches older references. When the queue is empty, the page says every order line in the last 90 days is linked to a product.

## Enter a link manually

For references that no longer appear in the queue, or to remove a link, open **Enter manually**:

| Field | What to enter |
| - | - |
| **Platform** | The platform name, for example shopify |
| **Store ID** | The store's number in WISEPIM |
| **Product reference in the store** | The product reference as the store sends it |
| **Variant reference in the store** | The variant reference, when the store uses one |
| **Product ID in your catalog** | The WISEPIM product to link to. Leave empty to remove the link |

Click **Preview affected lines**. The **Check this link** step shows **N order lines (N archived) and N refund lines. Link version N.** so you can see what the link will touch. Then click **Apply link**.

> [!WARNING]
>
> A link applies to every past order, not only the dates you picked. This updates past orders in WISEPIM only, and your store stays as it is. If anything changed since the preview, you are asked to preview again.

After applying, the page reads **Reports need an update to include this change.** Run **Update reports** under [Analytics settings](https://docs.wisepim.com/en/analytics/analytics-settings.md) for the affected period.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Links are versioned, not final. Applying a new link for the same reference replaces the old one, and removing the product from a link takes the lines back out of product reports. The preview you confirm is valid for a short while; if orders or settings change in between, WISEPIM refuses the apply and asks for a fresh preview.

## Act on what you find

> **A best seller shows in order totals but not in product sales**
>
> Search the queue for its reference as the store sends it. Link it, then run **Update reports**. The product then appears in [Orders](https://docs.wisepim.com/en/analytics/orders.md), in [Margin](https://docs.wisepim.com/en/analytics/margin.md) and in the [Fix queue](https://docs.wisepim.com/en/analytics/fix-queue.md).

> **The same reference keeps coming back after an import**
>
> The store sends a different reference for each variant. Link each variant reference, using **Variant reference in the store** in the manual form, rather than the parent product only.

> **You linked the wrong product**
>
> Within ten seconds, click **Undo**. Later, open **Enter manually**, fill in the same references with the correct **Product ID in your catalog**, preview and apply. The new link replaces the old one for every order line.

> **Margin still says Needs product matching after you linked everything**
>
> Reports have not been updated yet. Run **Update reports** under [Analytics settings](https://docs.wisepim.com/en/analytics/analytics-settings.md) for the period, then reopen Margin.
