# Google Shopping

> See impressions, clicks and conversions per product on Google, from free listings and ads, read nightly from your Merchant Center connection.

The Google Shopping report shows how your products do on Google: impressions, clicks and sales from free listings and ads. It reads the figures from Google Merchant Center, separate from GA4, and lists them per offer next to the WISEPIM product it belongs to.

**What this page enables:** you see which products Google shows but nobody clicks, which ones get clicks from free listings without any ad spend, and which offers in Merchant Center do not map to a product in your catalog.

**Where to find it:** **Analytics > Traffic & SEO > Google Shopping**. The page needs a connected Merchant Center account. Without one it shows **Connect Merchant Center first**; the first night after connecting it shows **Waiting for the first report**.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Connect the account on the integrations page first. See [Google Merchant Center Integration](https://docs.wisepim.com/en/integrations/google-merchant-center.md) for the connection steps and locale mapping. The report reads performance data only; it never changes your offers.

## How the data arrives

* **Read nightly.** WISEPIM reads your Google Shopping results every night through the Merchant Center connection. A **synced** stamp in the header tells you when the last read finished; **Not refreshed in the last day** appears when it is overdue.
* **Data ends two days ago.** Google reports with a delay, so the most recent day in the report is always two days before today. **How we measure** shows **Latest Google data: `{date}`**.
* **90 days of history on the first sync.** The first read pulls 90 days, which fills all three windows at once.
* **Period** tabs switch between the last **28**, **56** and **90** days. The header shows the merchant account (**Merchant account `{id}`**) and the exact dates compared.

## Read the table

The **Offers on Google** table lists one row per offer in Merchant Center.

| Column | What it shows |
| - | - |
| **Product** | The matched WISEPIM product, or the offer's own name with a matching message. |
| **Free impr.** | How often the offer appeared in free listings. |
| **Free clicks** | Clicks from free listings. |
| **Free CTR** | Free clicks divided by free impressions. |
| **Free conv.** | Conversions Google attributes to free listings. These can be fractions, because Google splits the credit between touchpoints. |
| **Ads impr.** | How often the offer appeared in Shopping ads. |
| **Ads clicks** | Clicks from Shopping ads. |
| **Ads CTR** | Ads clicks divided by ads impressions. |
| **Clicks** | Free and ads clicks together. |

A dash means Google did not report that number. It is never a zero. When Google skips free-listing conversions for a read, the page says **Google didn't report free-listing conversions this time. Clicks and impressions are complete.**

> [!NOTE]
>
> When Google reports no impressions or clicks at all for the period, the page shows **No Google Shopping activity in this period**. If the last read failed it shows **Google Shopping results are unavailable** and retries the next night.

### SKU matching

Offers are matched to catalog products by SKU: the offer ID in Merchant Center must equal the product SKU in WISEPIM. A coverage line above the table sums it up: **`{matched}` offers matched to a product by SKU, `{unmatched}` not matched, `{ambiguous}` with more than one match.** Unmatched rows show one of two messages:

* **No product with this SKU**: no catalog product carries that SKU. Check the offer ID in Merchant Center or the SKU in WISEPIM.
* **More than one product has this SKU**: two or more catalog products share the SKU, so the row cannot be attributed. Make SKUs unique.

## Act on what you find

> **High free impressions, low free CTR**
>
> Google shows the offer but shoppers pick other results. The title, image and price are what they see. Open the product in WISEPIM and review the title and main image; compare the price with the same product on Google. Use [AI enrichment](https://docs.wisepim.com/en/essentials/enriching-products.md) to rewrite the title with the attributes shoppers search for. **Outcome:** more clicks from impressions you already get for free.

> **Ads clicks are high but free clicks are near zero**
>
> The offer only shows when you pay for it. That usually means the free listing is missing or disapproved, or the product data is too thin for Google to rank it organically. Check the offer's status in Merchant Center and the sync health on the [Google Merchant Center Integration](https://docs.wisepim.com/en/integrations/google-merchant-center.md) page. **Outcome:** free listing traffic that lowers your dependence on ad spend.

> **Many rows say No product with this SKU**
>
> The offer IDs you send to Merchant Center do not match your WISEPIM SKUs. If you export through WISEPIM, the offer ID is the SKU and the mismatch means the SKU changed after the export. If another tool feeds Merchant Center, align its offer IDs with your SKUs. **Outcome:** every offer lands on a product row, so the report ranks your real catalog.

> **Clicks are fine but sales are not**
>
> Google Shopping clicks land on your product page, where GA4 takes over. Open [Product Performance](https://docs.wisepim.com/en/analytics/product-performance.md) and look up the product's add-to-cart rate against similar products, then check [Tracking Health](https://docs.wisepim.com/en/analytics/tracking-health.md) to be sure purchases are being tracked at all. **Outcome:** you fix the page or the tag, not the ad.
